Update Personal Information on Your Profile

Your personal information within your settings includes details such as your name and demographic details. 

During the account setup process, you're prompted to provide details. If you previously skipped this step or want to update any of this information, follow the steps below to make changes! 

If you want to update your profile information, such as your bio, skills, and education information, check out Completing your Profile in Handshake. 

 

1. Click your account icon in the upper-right corner of Handshake, then click Settings from the dropdown

2. Within your settings, click Personal info

3. Add or edit the following fields: 

  • First name (Type in the box)
  • Middle name (Optional)
  • Last name (Type in the box)
  • Preferred name (Optional)
  • Language (Choose one)
    • English (US)
    • English (UK)
    • Français
    • Deutsch
  • Demographic information(Type in the box to add one or multiple responses)
    • Gender (Optional)
    • Race and Ethnicity (Optional)
    • Note: Sharing this information is optional, only visible to you, and can't be used to identify you when employers search for candidates.

4. Once the updates have been made, click the button Save changes or exit the page to cancel.
