Identity verification and account authenticity
At Handshake AI, a trusted and secure environment is essential to the integrity of our platform and the quality of work we produce. This policy outlines identity verification and account authenticity requirements for all individuals performing work on Handshake AI–managed projects — including annotation, evaluation, research, and other task-based services. To uphold these standards, individuals may be required to complete verification processes confirming their identity, credentials, and location before accessing projects or systems.
These measures help ensure that work on Handshake AI projects is performed only by verified individuals and that access to systems, tools, and data is appropriately safeguarded.
Verification requirements
Before participating in certain projects, individuals may be asked to complete one or more verification steps through Handshake AI’s approved processes.
Verification may include confirming information such as:
- Identity
- Relevant qualifications or credentials
- Geographic location where work is performed
Handshake AI may also request periodic re-verification to maintain account integrity and ensure compliance with platform requirements.
Responsibilities related to identity and account integrity
These responsibilities are specific to identity verification and account security. For broader expectations about how work is conducted — including quality standards, project availability, and assessments, refer to Handshake AI Fellowship expectations.
Individuals working on Handshake AI projects are expected to:
- Complete the required onboarding and verification processes before beginning work.
- Provide accurate and truthful information during verification and account setup.
- Use only their own account and assigned credentials when accessing Handshake AI systems.
- Keep login credentials secure and confidential.
- Ensure that all work, system access, and task submissions are performed solely by the verified account holder.
- Promptly report any suspected unauthorized access, compromised credentials, or account irregularities.
- Comply with any requests from the Handshake AI team related to account verification or authentication.
Prohibited conduct related to identity and account authenticity
The behaviors below specifically undermine identity verification and platform authenticity. For conduct violations related to work quality or community guidelines, refer to Handshake AI Fellowship expectations.
To maintain the integrity of the platform, the following behaviors are not permitted:
- Providing false or misleading information about your identity, location, or qualifications.
- Attempting to bypass or interfere with verification processes.
- Submitting falsified, altered, or fraudulent documentation.
- Impersonating another individual, business, or organization.
- Misrepresenting credentials, affiliations, or qualifications.
- Using manipulated or synthetic media (such as altered images or videos) to misrepresent identity.
Handshake AI may take action on accounts that engage in behavior that undermines verification processes or the authenticity of platform participants.
Enforcement
Handshake AI reserves the right to review accounts and investigate potential violations of this policy. Accounts found to be in violation may be subject to restrictions on account access, payment, removal from projects, suspension, or permanent deactivation.
