Whether you’re just getting started or have been here for a while, this is your one-stop shop for everything you need to be successful on Handshake AI.

Updating your Handshake AI email address

Keeping your account email up to date helps you receive important updates and access your Handshake AI work.
For security reasons, our team cannot directly change the email address on your Handshake account.

Use the steps below to update it based on your specific circumstances.

 

If you can still log in with your current email address

If you can still sign in with the email currently associated with your Handshake account, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to Handshake using the email address and password already linked to your account.
  2. Update your email address by following the steps in Update Your Primary Email Address in Handshake.

Once your changes are saved, your new email address will automatically sync to your Handshake AI account. No additional steps are required. This is the fastest and most secure way to update your email address.

 

If you can no longer log in with your current email address

If you have permanently lost access to the email associated with your Handshake account (for example, if your school email has been archived), follow the steps below:

  1. Create a new Handshake account using your new email address. Go to Handshake account registration and follow the prompts to create a new student account.
  2. Wait to be added back to projects. After your new account is created, you will be added back to the standard queue for Handshake AI project allocation.

Note: project matching and timing depend on your eligibility and current project availability.

Because we cannot verify your identity without access to your original email address, creating a new account is the only secure option if you no longer have access to that email.
