Linking your Handshake AI account to Handshake

We have updated how you log into Handshake AI to provide a smoother experience. 

This change streamlines your login experience, unlocks personalized features across Handshake, and makes it easier to access Handshake's full network.

Here’s what you need to know.

 

Who can connect right now?

Currently, only student users can connect their Handshake AI accounts to Handshake accounts. 

If you’re a career services or employer user, you won’t be able to connect just yet—attempting to do so will result in an error. Don’t worry, your opportunity to link accounts is coming in a future phase.

Note: Even after connecting your account during this phase, you’ll continue logging in with your existing Handshake AI credentials until the full transition is complete.

 

How to connect your Handshake student account

If your email in Handshake AI matches the email on your Handshake account, you’re all set! Your account has been connected automatically!

Don’t have a Handshake account? No action is required. We’ve got you covered. If the option to create an account is available, you can still do so, and it will link to your Handshake AI account.

Tip: Your school may have already created a Handshake account for you—try logging in with your school email!

For users whose Handshake AI email doesn’t match a Handshake account, a banner will appear prompting you to connect. Click the Link Handshake accounts button in the upper-right corner of the page to get started.

  • Already logged into Handshake? Your accounts will be linked automatically, and you'll be redirected to your Handshake AI dashboard.
  • Not logged in? You'll be prompted to sign in or create a Handshake account. After that, you’ll return to your Handshake AI dashboard with your account successfully connected.
